Does this sound familiar?

You have decided you want to breastfeed, but you don't know where to start (or are overloaded with information and overwhelmed).

You have heard stories from friends, families, and strangers on the internet (hello, scary mommy groups on social media) about how hard breastfeeding is and why they didn't continue.

Your OBGYN has told you “breastfeeding is best for the baby” but you have gotten no further education on how to do it.

You know there has to be a way to be successful at this, but you're just not sure what that is (I mean people have done it for generations, right?! What's the secret?!)

You are not alone!

You deserve to have all of the information to make informed decisions & advocate for your breastfeeding journey, right from the start.

Luckily, that’s exactly why I started this business.

Why do you need lactation support?

Our culture spends so much time preparing for birth, but it's time to normalize the preparation it takes to breastfeed.

You weren't just “born” knowing how to breastfeed - it is a learned skill that you AND baby have to work on and learn together! And if you're doing all of your learning during an already stressful and vulnerable time (postpartum is a little wild if you haven't heard) - you are more likely to be overwhelmed and unmotivated.

“I'll just take a hospital class!” - that's great! The more education, the better- but one hospital class will NOT adequately prepare you for this.

“I'm just going to figure it out as I go!” - you're amazing! But learning the skills to “figure it out” is a big piece of this.

“I'll rely on the lactation consultant in the hospital!” - nope. The role of the LC at the hospital is to ensure there are no major problems, but it is NOT the place that you will learn all you need to know about breastfeeding.

Don't “wing it” for infant feeding.

I can’t believe anyone ever does this without support. I literally knew nothing before the prenatal education sessions, and I work in healthcare so I feel like I “should have known” something. I’m so thankful for Kristen’s knowledge & knowing she’s there as soon as I deliver.

Why do I focus so heavily on prenatal education?

Think about it. Would you rather learn to drive a car going 80mph down the highway in the rain without a seatbelt, or would you learn how to drive and practice in a parking lot first?

(For those of you who said 80mph down a highway… are you okay?!)

You are so much more EMPOWERED and CONFIDENT when you have the TOOLS to breastfeed, vs. trying to problem-solve and learn as you go. Could you do it? Maybe! But it is MUCH more overwhelming and you are more likely to wean earlier than intended when you don’t first have prenatal education.

Plus, when you sign on prenatally, you are guaranteed to have lactation support as SOON as your baby as born - vs. waiting until something goes wrong or to get an appointment a week or two later with the traditional lactation support model.

So, what really sounds more helpful?
